Ron B. Somogyi MD MSc FRCSC

Plastic, Reconstructive and Cosmetic Surgery

Dr. Ron Somogyi is a Toronto native, trained at the University of Toronto in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He completed two fellowships in Melbourne, Australia. The first, at The Peter Maccallum Cancer Centre, focused on complex cancer reconstruction with an emphasis on microsurgical breast reconstruction. The second, at The Melbourne Institute of Plastic Surgery, provided Dr. Somogyi with an in-depth, wide ranging experience in aesthetic plastic surgery. There, he learned new and innovative techniques and honed his cosmetic surgery skills. He has brought all of these unique skills back to his practice here in Toronto.

Dr. Somogyi has been on full time staff at North York General since 2014 and currently maintains a private practice Downtown at Toronto Plastic Surgery. He also maintains privileges at Women’s College Hospital and is active academically as an Assistant Professor within the Department of Surgery at The University of Toronto. He publishes his research regularly and is involved in speaking and teaching nationally and internationally.

Dr. Somogyi’s focus is on providing the best possible experience for each and every patient. He is personable and reliable. His passion for plastic surgery and for combining his reconstructive and cosmetic skills to deliver optimal results is his greatest strength.

Administrative Assistant

Cindy has been with Dr. Somogyi since September 2015 and handles all aspects of his reconstructive practice. Her main focus is patient care and making sure your medical experience is comfortable from start to finish. Cindy has a warm and approachable personality and is always available to answer your questions quickly and efficiently.

Surgical Coordinator

Sophia manages the front office and is involved in coordinating and scheduling the aesthetic surgical practice. Sophia has been with working in this office since 2005 and has been working in the field of plastic surgery for over 17 years. Her expertise and knowledge in the field of cosmetic plastic surgery makes her an excellent resource for all of your questions.

Office Manager

Debby manages the office at Toronto Plastic Surgery. She is a friendly smile when you walk in the door and an excellent resource to our patients and staff alike. She understands what it takes to deliver top quality care and works hard each and every day to ensure that every patient is looked after in the best way possible.

Practice Nurse

Jessica is a registered nurse and a highly skilled practitioner with a trained eye for beautiful results. She cares deeply about each patient and has a unique ability to develop a relationship with our patients that makes them feel well cared for and confident that they will achieve their aesthetic goals.

Waqqas N. Jalil MD FRCSC

Plastic, Reconstructive and Cosmetic Surgery

Dr. Waqqas Jalil is a highly trained Plastic Surgeon in the fields of Reconstructive and Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. He had the great privilege of being trained in both Canada and the United States; an opportunity that allowed him to be trained at a world class level, bringing new techniques and innovations to his new home in North York.

Dr. Jalil began his medical education at the University of Saskatchewan where he spent four years and graduated with honours. Shortly thereafter, he completed an intensive plastic surgery residency training program through the University of Manitoba. It was during this residency training that Dr. Jalil developed his passion for Breast Reconstruction and Aesthetic Surgery. This passion took him to New York City where he began a yearlong fellowship at the world­renowned Manhattan Ear Eye Throat Hospital {MEETH) and Lenox Hill Hospital. While in New York City, he trained with leaders and innovators in both Cancer {Head/Neck/Breast) Reconstruction and Aesthetic Surgery {Face, Breast and Body). This extensive training is something he is excited to bring back to Toronto to share at both the academic and clinical level.

After completing his training, Dr. Jalil began his career at North York General. There, he, Dr. Neu and Dr. Somogyi fostered a professional and personal relationship that was firmly rooted in their constant desire to provide patients with optimal results in an environment of care and respect. Dr. Jalil is proud to call Toronto home and looks forward to working with Dr. Somogyi to provide top quality care to the patients of this community.
